Harold L. Brodrick's Obituary
Mr. Harold Lewis Brodrick, age 92, passed away on February 18, 2025. He was born on July 11, 1932 in Central Lake, MI to John & Alice (Somerville) Brodrick. He claimed the promises of God’s Word, to be given eternal life through his simple faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He received Him as his personal Savior in 1948. He faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He graduated from Western Michigan University and taught school for Muskegon Public Schools (Angell) for 34 years. He was a member of Lakeshore Baptist Church in Grand Haven, MI. On February 14, 1958, he married Nancy Anne Abbey. She preceded him in death on September 24, 2006. On November 24, 2007, he married Ruth Olson. She preceded him in death on February 22, 2022. He is also preceded in death by his parents; his sister and her husband, Joan (Clarence) Town and brothers-in-law, Wayne Scheffler and Louis (Kim) Abbey. He is survived by his children, Rick (Gayle) Brodrick, Jeffrey (Denise) Brodrick, Amy (Kirk) Schultz, Renee (John) Pozza, Joanne (Mike Clough) Olson; 5 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sister, Carol Scheffler; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Harbor Hospice and at the Village at the Oaks.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Lakeshore Baptist Church, 17306 Church Hill Drive, Grand Haven, MI with Pastor Nate Birkholz officiating. Burial will be at East Dalton Oakhill Cemetery, Muskegon, MI. Visitation with Harold’s family will be 5-7pm Friday, February 21, 2025 at The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 620 Washington Ave., Grand Haven, MI 49417 and one-hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Lakeshore Baptist Church or Harbor Hospice.
