He purchased the business from his dad and he owned and operated the business until his retirement. HG Davis and Son was one of the largest completely specialized engine specialists in Western Michigan. Harold was an avid boater who took great pride in keeping up a very well maintained home and yard at his house on Mona Lake. He loved working on cars; anything from engine repair to body repairs to restoration of old cars. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a fan of #24 Jeff Gordon. A Saturday night in Harold’s life didn’t go by without Lawrence Welk being played on the TV. We all share many wonderful memories of our times together as a family; vacations, racing, go-carts, snowmobiles, boats, motorhomes, the cottage on Acker Lake, and he may have even made it to a horse show or two.
