Harold Ellis' Obituary
Harold Ellis, age 65, of Grand Haven passed away Monday, June 22, 2020, at home. He was born May 15, 1955, in Grand Haven to Howard Manly and Lois Joan (Runnion) Ellis and married his eighth grade sweetheart Patricia “Pat” Botbyl on October 24, 1975, at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Harold retired in 2017 from Automatic Spring Products, after 43 years of service. He was a member of St. Patrick-St. Anthony Catholic Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles #925, Fruitport Conservation Club. He loved hunting, fishing, metal detecting, cooking, and photography (especially taking pictures of his grandchildren).
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Pat Ellis of Grand Haven; daughter, Beth (Joseph) Walsh of Grand Haven; son, Neil (Kristy) Ellis of Grand Haven; four grandchildren: Noah Deverney, Dylan Deverney, Austin Schwallier, Pfc., and Hunter Ellis; step-grandson, Paul Walsh; two sisters, Deanna (David) Dyke of Allendale and Brenda King of Wayland; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Donald Ellis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2020 at St. Patrick – St. Anthony Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Schwartz as celebrant. Friends may meet the family 5 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, at The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 620 Washington Ave, Grand Haven, MI 49417 (please note that there will be COVID-19-related restrictions in place during visitation) and one hour prior to the service at church.
