Harold A. " Butch" Le Mieux Jr.'s Obituary
Harold A. “Butch” Le Mieux Jr., age 78, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 10, 2026. He was born on January 3, 1948, to Harold and Zola (Hunt) Le Mieux Sr. in Muskegon, MI, where he remained a lifelong resident. He graduated from Mona Shores High School with the Class of 1966. Butch proudly served his country in the U.S. Army after being drafted in 1968 during the Vietnam Era. During his time in the military, he was stationed in Louisiana and Germany before receiving his honorable discharge in 1969. He dedicated 33 years of employment to SD Warren Paper Mill, later known as Sappi, before retiring in 2002. On September 27, 1980, he married the love of his life, Carla O’Toole. Together they shared 45 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and countless adventures. Butch was a proud member of the Polish Falcons and the Fruitport Eagles. He was a man who enjoyed staying busy and found joy in many hobbies, including gardening, woodworking, and puttering around in his garage. He especially loved riding his Harley and traveling with Carla, whether on the motorcycle or wherever the road would take them. Above all, Butch treasured the time he spent with his family, especially his beloved granddaughters. He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, proud and doting grandfather, cherished brother, and dear friend to all who knew and loved him. His presence will be deeply missed by many. Butch is survived by his loving wife, Carla Le Mieux; son, Tim (Elizabeth) Le Mieux; two granddaughters, Adrianna Le Mieux and Emma Le Mieux; best friend, John Birch; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Linda Decker. Butch will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
