It's so easy to love him, as he always was a sweetheart. And I loved his sense of humor, he seemed to always give a bit of history and advice that made you think, but in the background of a tease to get you to smile at him, then he'd wink and smile. Never to be forgotten. And I'm sure all his boys will miss him dearly, he was very generous. Thinking of you, Marian and praying for peace during the holidays. Love you all.

Harold was a wonderful man. Always upbeat and a joy to work with. We made him do some fun crazy things at the Hackley Hume sites. RIP Beav. You will be greatly missed.
It is impossible to write how much Harold meant to me and others who worked with him. He was always willing to go the extra mile, with a smile. He made the tours at the Hackley and Hume houses come alive. As a special 1st person program at the Scolnik house, I once asked him to play the part of a "hobo". I gave him some general information about the 1929/30's and the transients of the time. He took that info and told the most heartbreaking story of losing his job, looking for work, not wanting hand outs, but willing to work in the home's Victory garden. By the time he was done I was in tears. He always did as I asked and more than I imagined.
I had the pleasure of working with Harold at the museum. He was the best! His humor and laugh are going to be missed everyday. He was an exceptional guide at the Historic Sites and he touched so many peoples lives. I am going to miss seeing him at Shelby football games where he cheered on his grandsons and the loss of him is going to be something that I carry for a long time.
I had the wonderful opportunity to get to know Harold while working at the Hackley and Hume Historic Sites. I will always remember Harold as one of the kindest people I've known, a true gem of a human being. He brought so much joy, laughter, and wisdom to all of us at Hackley and Hume, and I feel beyond blessed to have known him. A great friend who will be missed.
