Harold W. Nichols' Obituary
Harold W. Nichols, age 97, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at his home in Twin Lake. He was born December 20, 1922 in Muskegon to Arthur and Ester (Mangelson) Nichols. Harold was a veteran of the U.S. Marines. Harold worked 42 years as a machinist for Dana Corp. and retired in 1990. On February 5, 1945, he married Shirley L. McArthur in Farmington, MI and she preceded him in death on January 8, 2014. Survivors include 2 children, Michael (Jeanenne) Nichols and Sally Hendrixon; grandchildren, Steve (Joni) Nichols, Matthew Crain, Kara (Nick) VanderWeele, Kelly (Doug) Weiler, Jeffrey Hendrixon, David Hendrixon; and great-grandchildren, Ilana, Aiden, Kolten, Kalia, Abram, Kendyl, Logann, Lawson and Evelyn. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Nichols, his parents, 2 brothers, Clayton and Joe Nichols, a grandson, Robert Nichols and a son-in-law, Duane Hendrixon. A Memorial Service will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Laketon-Bethel Reformed Church (1568 W. Giles Rd.) with Rev. Dr. Sherwin Brantsen officiating.
