Harold J. Rogers, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Harold J. Rogers, Sr., age 72, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2017 in Muskegon. He was born on April 19, 1945 in Grand Rapids to Clarence and Clarabelle (Wahr) Rogers, and resided most of his life in Muskegon. Harold worked for Newkirk Electric as both an Electrical Engineer and CAD Manager for 42 years, before retiring this past summer. Harold’s main hobby was helping people and his family. He loved to hunt, fish, play and coach softball, and enjoyed long country rides with his dogs. On September 18, 1965, he married the former Candace “Candy” Suzanne Deacey, whom he was very devoted to, and together they celebrated 50 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on November 14, 2015. SURVIVORS include three children, Harold James Rogers, II, Alicia Marie (Chris Johnson) Rogers, and Angie Kay (Hank Myers) Rogers; 10 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren; three brothers, Larry (Rozine) Rogers, Terry (Avis) Rogers, and Gary (Janet) Rogers; and sisters-in-law, Julie Rogers and Joyce Rogers. Harold was also preceded in death by two daughters, Bobbie Sue Rogers and Connie Jo Rogers; great-grandson, Brayden; and brother, Robert “Bob” Rogers. A Memorial Service celebrating Harold’s life will be 2PM Saturday, November 18, 2017 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231-206-0591) with Joyce Rogers, Celebrant.
