Harold H. "Herb" Holden's Obituary
Mr. Harold Herbert “Herb” Holden, age 73, passed away in Muskegon at Mercy General Hospital Health Partners early Wednesday morning, May 18, 2011 following a long illness. He was born in Three Rivers, Michigan on September 21, 1937 to Clarence Ray and Helen Maxine (Ruggles) Holden Sr. Herb was a graduate of Three Rivers High School and was a U.S. Army veteran. He moved to Muskegon in 1965 and prior to his retirement was employed as a welder at Muskegon Boiler Works. He is survived by: two daughters, Tosha (Ted) Wierenga and LuAnn (Tim) Hazen both of Nunica; a son, Dennis (Laurie) Holden of Wolverine, MI; one step-daughter, Claire (David) Salac of Buffalo, NY; his friend and companion, Hazel Churchley of Fruitport; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. In accordance to Mr. Holden’s wishes, he will be cremated. A private burial with family will take place at the: Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan with Military Rites under the auspices of the Ft. Custer Cemetery, Honor Guard.
