Harold W. VanderMey's Obituary
Mr. Harold W. VanderMey, age 86, went to be with his Lord Tuesday, March 31, 2009. He was born July 28, 1922 in New Era, MI to William and Trena (Timmer) VanderMey. Mr. VanderMey was a toolmaker for Muskegon Piston Ring for over 33 years and served in the Army Air Corp in WWII. He was a member of Evanston Ave. Baptist Church. On May 4, 1951 he married Eleanor Buining in Muskegon, and she survives him along with children, Christina (Patrick) Kearney of Grandville, MI, Paul (Jann) VanderMey of Belton, MO, Steve (Ruth) VanderMey of Grand Rapids, Mary (Michael) Hunt of Muskegon, Tom (Dawn) VanderMey of Zeeland, son-in-law John Patton of Spain, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sister, Kathleen Vanderlaan, and brothers-in-law, Robert Rottman, and Irving Lundell. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ruth Patton, in 2008 and sisters, Beatrice Oostmeyer, Wilma Rottman, and Donna Lundell, and brother, Edward VanderMey. MEMORIAL SERVICES will take place 11:00 AM Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Evanston Ave. Baptist Church with Pastor Allan Engstrom and Pastor Shane Prewitt officiating. Visitation with the family will take place 1 hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be given to Evanston Ave. Baptist Church or Harbor Hospice.
