Mr. Harrison Frank Lowden's Obituary
Mr. Harrison Frank “Harry” Lowden, age 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday, June 20, 2012. Mr. Lowden was born October 5, 1931 to Frank W. and Mary Elizabeth (Krum) Lowden in Grand Rapids, MI. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. On November 27, 1952 he married the former Velma D. Billington and she survives him. Harry was employed as head custodian with Orchard View Public Schools for 20 years, retiring in 1988; prior to that he had worked at S.D. Warren Paper Company. Harry was a member of Church of God United where he had been a former treasurer, had served on the board and had been the custodian. He was also a member of Disabled American Veterans Wood-Tazelaar Post, Chapter 11. His family, especially his grandchildren, was the joy of his life. Harry was preceded in death by his daughter, Peggy Campbell in 2006. Along with his wife of 59 years, Harry is survived by his daughters, Yvonne E. (Tim) Sullivan of Westminster, CO and Kristi L. (Brent) Burkall of Fruitport; son-in-law, Craig Campbell; his grandchildren, Kevin (Andrea) Sullivan, Stacy (Derek) Ross, Michael Sullivan, Sarah Sullivan, Jennifer Miller, Erika (Jason) Packard, Brooke (Brandon) DeVille and Courtney (Brad) Lodholtz; 9 great-grandchildren;; 2 sisters, Pat (John) Clark of Whitehall and Sue (Denny) Bueno of Muskegon; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jim Jarembo and Bob Larabee. Harry was also preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Thebo and brothers, Bud, Eugene, Jerry, Frank and Jeff Lowden and Paul Ervay. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Church of God United, 1630 Harvey St., with Pastor Lynette Gillett officiating. Full military rites with be afforded by VFW Muskegon County Council. Burial will be in Egelston Township Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Friday at The Sytsema Chapel 737 Apple Avenue 231 726-5210
