Harry R. Cleveland's Obituary
Harry R. Cleveland, age 93, passed away on January 21, 2024. He was born in Muskegon, MI, on August 26, 1930, to Harry and Leah (Smith) Cleveland. Harry graduated from Orchard View. Harry married Shirley Corning in March of 1952. Shirley passed away March of 2011. In October of 2016 Harry married Marva Knutson. He was known for his love of bowling, golfing, camping and most of all investing in families of Veterans. Harry was featured in the news for the work and love of finding information for families of veterans. Harry was also known for his love of music and spending Wednesdays at Cowboy Jims. Harry is survived by his loving wife, Marva Cleveland; children: Deborah (Dennis) Cook, Richard Cleveland, Ardis Johnson, Brian (Amy) Cleveland, Rhonda (Terri Crabtree) Cleveland; stepchildren: Joseph Knutson, Paul (Anna) Knutson and Paulette (David) Ronning; six brothers and sisters: Glenna Drummond, Gloria Bates, Esther Hill, Robert “Bob” (Judy) Cleveland, Richard Cleveland and Judy Mcpheron; 13 grandchildren and 21 Great-grandchildren. Harry is preceded in death by his parents: Harry and Leah Cleveland; first wife: Shirley Cleveland; stepchildren: Brenda Ronning and Bryan Bates; brothers: Raymond Cleveland and Jerry Cleveland; and Grandson: Andrew Cleveland. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Lakeside Community Church. Visitation will be Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm and Friday, January 26, 2024 from Noon – 1:00 pm at the Lee Chapel. The funeral service will be held Friday January 26th, 2024 at 1:00 pm also at the Lee Chapel and can be viewed by Clicking Here. There will be desserts at the Kingdom Embassy Church located at 3025 Glenside Blvd. Muskegon across from Campbell Elementary School that is sponsored by the Lakeside Community Church.
