Harry G. Holstine Jr.'s Obituary
Harry G. Holstine Jr., age 93, peacefully met his Heavenly Father on Friday, May 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving sister. He was born on September 22, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, to Harry Sr. and Katherine (Mahaney) Holstine. He graduated from Kelly High School and was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Following his two years in the Army, Harry continued his military service in the U.S. Air Force, where he proudly served for an additional 22 years before retiring as a decorated veteran. During his military career, Harry discovered a lifelong passion for photography. An interest sparked while photographing from helicopters in Vietnam. That passion evolved into a successful post-military career, with his work featured in numerous magazines, newspapers, and for various companies over the years. Harry was an avid bowler, remaining active in the sport well into his late 80s. He was also deeply involved in his faith community at Shores Community, where he enjoyed attending church, singing, and spending time with his many friends. Harry will be remembered for his quick wit, outgoing personality, and his gift for making friends wherever he went. His humor, kindness, and generous spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his sister, Sharon Zea; niece, Jackie (Jeff) Fielder; and nephew, Jack (Lori) Zea. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Jack Zea. Arrangements entrusted to The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
