Harry W. Kamp's Obituary
Harry W. Kamp, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 24, 1933, to Orville Kamp and Fern (Stephey) Kamp in Muskegon, MI where he has remained a lifelong resident. He graduated from Muskegon Heights High School class of 1952. Harry was a proud veteran serving his country in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a dedicated employee of Sappi paper mill for 29 years working as a millwright. On November 15, 1958, he married the love of his life, Joyce Wiegert in Muskegon. Together they cherished 65 years full of love and laughter. He was an avid golfer and loved spending his time out on the greens. Harry was a true football fan always rooting for the University of Michigan, Kansas City Chiefs and his favorites, the Detroit Lions. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, amazing father, doting grandpa and great-grandpa and dear friend to many. His kind and tender-loving spirit will truly be missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Kamp; five children, Jeffery (Janis) Kamp, Harry (Dawn) Kamp Jr., Debbie Kamp, Michael Kamp and John (Kimberly) Kamp; 13 grandchildren, Jeffery (Shelly), Jennifer (Nick), Jason (Becka), Bradley (Erica), Jessica (Jordan), Kyle (Jennifer), Cory (Laura), Jacob, Zack (Lindsey), Mitchell (Laura), Daniel (Nicole), Mia (Dylan) and David; 18 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Catherine Kolberg; best friends, Dick (Alyce) Crago; and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; Orville Kamp Sr. and Fern Stanton; and three brothers, Orville Kamp Jr., Von Kamp and Paul Kamp. A Private family service will be held. Memorial Contributions in Harry’s honor can be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Mona View Cemetery.
