Mr. Harry J. Messenger's Obituary
Mr. Harry J. Messenger, age 86, passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 9, 2018. He was born on December 29, 1931 to Frank and Lena (Ferguson) Messenger in Oregon, Illinois. Harry enjoyed woodworking, painting and loved all his pets. He served his country in the United States Army. Harry is survived by his wife of 11 years, Linda; children, Rick (Jean) Messenger and Ruth (Bob) Miller; eight step-children; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special daughter-in-law, Colleen Dahlman; and sisters, Pauline and Ann. He was preceded in death by his wives, Beverly and Phyllis; brothers, Bud, Kenny, Charles and Robert “Cork.” A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 12 at 11AM at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church (1655 W. Norton Ave., 49441). Visitation with the family will be on Friday, May 11 at church from 5:30-7PM. Arrangements entrusted to The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100. In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church or Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated.
