Mr. Harry F. McCormick, age 89, died Sunday morning, September 21, 2003. He was born August 4, 1914 in Muskegon to Albert and Ethel (Burghduf) McCormick and had been a life resident. Mr. McCormick worked for Lipton and Tighe, driving the Sinclair gasoline tankers for 30 years before his retirement. He was a member at Lakeside Baptist Church and years ago had been involved with the youth programs. Mr. McCormick enjoyed writing and sharing his poems, and had a unique sense of humor. After 65 years of marriage, he lost his loving wife, the former Alpha Anderson on September 23, 1999. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Patrick (Donna) McCormick of Cadillac, Janice (Dale) DeVries of Battle Creek, Lonnie (Dan) Herman of Lansing; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Chuck (Helen) McCormick of Muskegon; sister, Doris (Herb) Munson of Grand Rapids; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Mark Herman; 2 brothers, Vernon and George McCormick; 3 sisters, Evelyn Mintonye, Dorothy Mulder, and Audrey McCormick.
