Harry J. Oosterhart's Obituary
Mr. Harry J. Oosterhart, age 84, went to be with his Lord Saturday afternoon, November 8, 2003, at Roosevelt Park Nursing Center. He was born October 27, 1919 in Muskegon to Hiram & Grace (Bussing) Oosterhart and had been a life resident of the area. Harry was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II and a former member of Cloverville Baptist Church. For 15 years, Harry was a guitarist and singer with the Gospel Ambassadors, traveling much of Michigan. He also ministered migrant families, with his music, for many summers. Prior to his retirement Harry had been employed as a custodian for Muskegon Christian School for 15 years; and had also been previously employed at American Store Equipment and E.H. Sheldon Co. SURVIVORS include his former wife of 57 years, Joyce Oosterhart; 5 children, Jerry (Sandee) Oosterhart of Palm Harbor, FL., Jimmy Oosterhart of Kingman, AZ., Larry (Linda) Oosterhart of Ferrysburg,MI, Nancy (Elden) Christiansen of Muskegon and Creg Oosterhart of Philadelphia, PA; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter and 1 sister-in-law, Delores Oosterhart of Muskegon. One granddaughter, Angela Christiansen; 1 great-grandson, Jason Cox; 2 daughters-in-law, Sandra & Joanne Oosterhart and 1 brother, Leon Oosterhart, preceded him in death. with Pastor Mark Looman officiating. Burial will be in Mona View Cemetery. VISITATION with Harry’s family will be 2-4 & 6-8PM Wednesday and one-hour prior to the service.
