Harvey L. Gould's Obituary
Mr. Harvey Lee “Harv” Gould, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2020. He was born on March 18, 1940 to Fern and Elsie (Carlson) Gould in Muskegon. A lifelong resident of the area, Harvey married the former Emily Sidock on December 14, 1957 and together they had 5 beautiful children. He was employed at Fleet Engineering where he retired after 30 plus years as a machinist. He was a member of the Fruitport Eagles #3666 and Twisting Trails Sno-Braves Snowmobile Club. Harv always lived his life in the fast lane, as long as it had a motor and went fast, he was in his glory. He used to race under #55 at Winston Speedway, and at one point was the oldest driver on the track. When not racing, he would travel in his motorhome around the state to the different speedways. Harvey enjoyed snowmobiling and snowmobile grass drag racing, as well as his Thursday morning pool league at 46 Bar. One of Harv’s favorite past time was spent watching his children play sports, he thoroughly enjoyed watching a good game of softball. Harv will be greatly missed by his children, Vicki (Daniel) Hilliard, Joseph (Keeli) Gould, Rhonda (Mike) Danielson, Carole (Tim) Pruitt and Todd Gould; brother, Leonard Gould; his long-time companion, Nancy Braafhart; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a host of friends including his best friend of 65 years, Carl (Carly) Crenno; and his cat, Peaches. He is preceded in death by his father; mother; stepfather, Norm Losey; and siblings, Harry Gould, Bert Gould and Elanor Anderson. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has already taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 11AM, Saturday, September 26 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444, followed by a luncheon at the Fruitport Eagles #3666. Visitation with the family will be Friday, September 25 from 6-8PM and one hour prior to the service, from 10-11AM.
