Hector "Al" A. Sifuentes' Obituary
Mr. Hector “Al” A. Sifuentes, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 in Muskegon. He was born on February 5, 1931 in Crystal City, TX to Juan and Virginia (Castaño) Sifuentes, and moved to the Muskegon area in 1953. Al was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War, past member of VFW Post 446, and served as the bugler for his Post and the VFW County Council Honor Guard for 21 years. He worked at Sealed Power for 33 years, before retiring in 1986. Al was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church since 1958. He was involved with the church musically, and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Al loved to play the guitar and bass guitar for many years, and enjoyed entertaining with his magic tricks. In 1958, he married the former Betty Poliski, and she preceded him in death on June 13, 2007. SURVIVORS include three children, Benita Jo “Bonnie” (Michael) Blohm of Muskegon, Roxanne (William) Eacker of Silver Creek, NY, and Allen (Donna) Sifuentes also of Muskegon; two grandchildren, Ian Sifuentes and Hannah Sifuentes; many special nieces and nephews; Louie Wagenmaker, who Al considered a son; and many other special friends . Al was also preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Socorro Amaya. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11AM Monday, December 16, 2019 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Fr. Charles Hall presiding. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Sunday, December 15, 2019 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100, with a Scripture Service at 6:30 PM. Entombment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
