Helen Mae Bowen's Obituary
Helen M. Bowen, age 86, surrounded by her loving family, went to be with her Lord on her birthday, September 27, 2018 in Muskegon. She was born on September 27, 1932 in Muskegon to Jacob and Cynthia (Hershey) Rambo and was a life resident of the area. Helen enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching game shows, going for walks, the color red, coffee, dark chocolate, shopping with her daughters, and attending her grandkids sporting events. On June 18, 1955, she married Fred Bowen, Sr. and Helen took care of Fred for many years before he preceded her in death on September 16, 2011. SURVIVORS include six children, Fred (Charleen) Bowen of Hart, Sandra (David) Sedgley of Muskegon, Steve (Shauna) Bowen of Muskegon, Carol (Greg) Karis of Muskegon, Debra (Al) Thomas of Nunica, and Kimberly (Craig) Schultz also of Muskegon; 21 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren, and two sisters, Janet (Paul) Thoma, and Ruth (Kenneth) Norden. Helen was also preceded in death by her brother, Bob (Mary Jo) Rambo; and daughter-in-law, Patti Bowen. MEMORIAL SERVICES will be 12PM Monday, October 8, 2018 at Lakes Community Church (2270 S. Mill Iron) with Pastor Aaron Gregory officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 4-7PM Sunday, October 7 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100, and 1 hour prior to the service at church, from 11-12PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to National Kidney Foundation of Michigan, Inc. will be appreciated.
