Helen Z. Crossman's Obituary
Helen Z. Weller-Crossman, age 105, passed away in Grand Rapids Wednesday evening, February 17, 2016. She was born April 3, 1910 in Muskegon, MI to Ebenezer and Rena (Thompson) Martin. Helen graduated from Muskegon Heights High School, Valedictorian of her class of 1928. On July 3, 1931 she married Harry J. Weller in Muskegon Heights and together with her husband, co-founded Weller Auto Parts in 1933 and relocated to Grand Rapids in 1958. On April 21, 1977, he preceded her in death. In 1984 she married William Crossman in Marne, MI, and he also preceded her in death. Helen had a strong Christian faith and had been a very active former member of Temple United Methodist Church in Muskegon. She was a very loving and giving person and was well loved by all who knew her. SURVIVORS include her son, Wayne (Jan) Weller of Grandville; 2 daughters-in-law: Dorothy Weller and Nancy Weller both of Grand Rapids; 2 step-daughters: Janice Cox and Jean Duchane both of Florida; 13 grandchildren; and many great, and great-great grandchildren; and also many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by 2 sons: Harry M. Weller and Darrel Weller; great-grandson, Russell Weller; 2 brothers: Harvey and Robert Martin; and sister, Bertha Holcomb. SERVICES will be 5:30 PM Saturday, February 20, 2016 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100 with Rev. Ken Havert officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service time. Burial will take place in Mona View Cemetery.
