Helen V. Farwig's Obituary
Mrs. Helen Verna Farwig, 90, died on Thursday, November 5, 2015 in Muskegon, MI. She was born on August 30, 1925 in Freesoil, MI, the daughter of Peter and Agnes McIntosh and had resided in Muskegon most of her life, spending winters in Florida. On January 12, 1946 Helen married William E. Farwig in Muskegon, MI and he preceded her in death on December 5, 2014. Helen was a lifelong member of Community of Christ Church where she was the pianist and organist for many years. Helen also accompanied the choir and band ensembles at Jolman School. She also had several dear friends from her class at Muskegon Heights H.S. that met each month since graduation over 70 years ago. Survivors include her children, Pamela R. (David) Jordan of Houghton Lake, MI, William P. (Deborah) Farwig of Muskegon, MI, Gary L. (Sharron) Farwig of North Muskegon, MI and Merri Joy (Robert) Luke of Holland, MI; 9 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Agnes McIntosh. There will be no visitation, and a memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
