Helen J. Freye's Obituary
Mrs. Helen J. Freye, age 95, passed away at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence on March 1, 2014. She was born on May 30, 1918 to Obed and Gladys (Bell) Sandven in Nevada, Iowa. She was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church. She volunteered at the hospital for Newborns and Needs and made numerous quilts for the church. On August 16, 1942, she married Joseph Freye, and he preceded her in death in 1997. SURVIVORS include 2 sons, Thomas (Mary Ann) Freye and Douglas (Melissa) Freye both of Muskegon; 4 grandchildren, Jeffrey (Rhonda) Freye, Joseph (Kathleen) Freye, Jennifer Freye and Jonathon (Susan) Freye, 4 great-grandchildren and one sister, Dorothy Archambeau. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jon Freye and sister, Virginia Korndorfer. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Lakeside United Methodist Church (2160 Crozier). VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service at the church. MEMORIALS: in lieu of flowers, donations to Lakeside United Methodist or the Poppen Residence would be appreciated.
