Helen Eileen Jewett's Obituary
Mrs. Helen Eileen Jewett, age 76, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Muskegon on January 5, 1948 to Eugene and Virginia (Douglas) Marshall.
Helen graduated from Western Michigan University and received her Master of Social Work from Illinois State University. She was employed by The ARC prior to her retirement in 2010. On December 19, 1969, Helen married Leon T. Jewett in Muskegon. Together they enjoyed traveling in their motor home, boating, and spending time at their cabin in Ruby Creek. She also enjoyed fishing, reading, gardening, and decorating her house for every holiday. Helen was a member of St. Mary the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and formerly a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Leon; two sons, Ian (Amy) Jewett and Andrew (Mandy) Jewett; five grandchildren, Zachary (Rhima) McElroy, Tyler VanHook-Jewett, Brooke Jewett, Katelyn Jewett, and Evan Jewett; one great-granddaughter, Amara Jewett; one brother, Kevin (Kathleen) Marshall; three sisters, Ann (Rick) Thomlinson, Kathy (Roger) Drake, and Elizabeth “Liz” Marshall; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Steve Marshall; and sister, Mary Marshall.
