Mrs. Helen M. Johnson's Obituary
Mrs. Helen M. Johnson, age 94, passed away Wednesday evening, January 15, 2014 in Muskegon. She was born February 18, 1919 in Muskegon to Frank and Catherine (Kahout) Budnick and was a life resident. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir, and belonged to the Catholic Daughters. Helen enjoyed quilt making, wood carving, and oil painting. She was also active in the sewing circle at the Muskegon Rescue Mission. On July 23, 1948 she married Clayton Johnson, and he preceded her in death on February 12, 1998. SURVIVORS include 3 children, John C. (Vicki) Johnson, Christine M. (Kurt) Briggs, Charles F. (Linda) Johnson, all of Norton Shores; 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a step-son, Jack W. Johnson; half-sister, Florence; half-brother, William. The Funeral Service for Mrs. Johnson will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 18 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, 49444, (213) 798-1100. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Friday. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Johnson may be made to the Muskegon Rescue Mission.
