Helen "Kay" Dietz's Obituary
Helen “Kay” Dietz, age 73, passed away on February 10, 2025, at home. Kay was born to Clifford and Geniveve McGrane on February 9, 1952, at Hackley Hospital in Muskegon, Michigan. She attended Muskegon High School and later attended Muskegon Community College where she became a registered respiratory therapist.. Kay was passionate about her job and became a mother figure to those who worked with her. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those who worked with her. On August 8, 1970, Kay married Clark “Greg” Dietz who she enjoyed 54 years of marriage with. Kay and Greg enjoyed traveling together, taking many trips over the years. They especially loved going to Disney World and Las Vegas, and Craps tournaments wherever one was held where she was a force to be reckoned with. She also enjoyed playing bingo. Kay was an amazing grandmother, often bringing her grandkids on adventures to the beach, McDonald’s play place, Michigan’s Adventure, and trolley rides around town. She even took the grandkids individually to go school clothes shopping every year.
Kay will be missed by her husband Greg; children, Greg (Angie) Dietz and Eric Dietz; grandchildren, Gabby (Sam Grand) Dietz, Grant (Kailey Carmean) Dietz, Gillian Dietz, Clifford Dietz, and Marie Dietz; siblings, Ken McGrane, Jim McGrane, Margret VonHohenstein, Barbra (Larry) Raynor; sister in law, Karen McGrane; and many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. Kay is preceded in death by her son Lance Dietz; parents, Clifford and Geniveve McGrane; sisters, Mary (Carl) Tazelaar and Jackie (Bob) Iverson; and brother, Bill McGrane.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., May 31, 2025, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service.
