Helen McFall's Obituary
Mrs. Helen McFall, age 92, of Spring Lake passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019. She was born August 7, 1926 in Grand Rapids to John and Aagje (Vander Grift) VanSoest and was a graduate of West Side Christian School. On September 5, 1946 she married Ted W. McFall and he preceded her in death on June 26, 1994.
Helen was an active member of All Shores Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed sewing, walking and riding her bike with her friends. Helen and Ted loved to travel and always enjoyed planning their next trip. After Ted passed away, she continued to travel the world with family and friends. She never sat idle and always kept moving. Helen will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by four children: Patricia Dalman of Spring Lake, Suellen (Randall) Koekkoek of Norton Shores, Anne (Harlow) Schaap of Chandler, MN; and Michael (Mary Studt) McFall of Richmond, VA; daughter-in-law, Beth Smalligan of Grand Rapids; eight grandchildren: Amy Rogers, Lisa (Brett) Slater, Angela Dalman, Kara Vargas, Erin (George) Keefe, Lindsey (Timothy) Dana, Kent (Chelsea) Schaap, Jeff (Jody) Schaap; 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Jephry MacFall; grandson, Eric Schaap; son-in-law, Clifford “Guy” Dalman; siblings: Louise, Agnes, Margie, Marie, and John, and their spouses.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Thursday, May 23, 2019 at All Shores Wesleyan Church. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at The Spring Lake Chapel (213 E. Savidge St.). Interment will take place in Spring Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Helen may be given to Chandler Christian School, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
