Helen L. Rapp's Obituary
Helen Louise Rapp, age 95, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018, peacefully in her home. Helen was born on May 29, 1923, to Henry and Dove (Waddell) Humphrey in Greenfield, Ohio. Helen’s family will carry with us the memories of a woman whose strength of character, fortitude, and sense of humor shaped all of our lives. She demonstrated living with gratitude, a steady faith and a commitment to civic duty. Moreover, Helen laughed with readiness and with the note of encouragement indicating joy trumps despair. She was a matriarch, and loved her family with great passion, honesty, and watched over each one, up to the very end. She will be deeply missed and we will carry her with us each day forward. We have been truly blessed to have her a part of our lives for so many years. Her last and most important wish in her own words, written down and left behind was as follows: “ I want to assure those that I leave behind that I would feel certain I will head up in the right direction when I leave this world.” Helen was a dearly beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Helen is survived by her Children, Linda (Edward) Fisher, Stephen Rapp, Constance (John) Sjoblom; grandchildren, Shannon, Shane, Jake, Katie, Corrie, Jeremy, Jared, Kailie; great-grandchildren, Reagan, Kalysta, Raquel; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert Rapp Jr., and brother, Donald Humphrey. A VISITATION with Helen’s family will take place on Saturday, October 13, 2018, from 9:30 to 11:00 am at Schoedinger Mid Town Chapel, 229 East State Street Columbus, Ohio.
