Helen "Reba" Vogelsang's Obituary
Mrs. Helen “Reba” Vogelsang, age 94, of Grand Haven passed away Friday, October 3, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, John on June 30, 2013; and sister, Kathleen. She is survived by two children, daughter, Joan (Scott) Wolfe of Grand Haven, MI; and son, William (Donna) Kitzmiller of Grand Haven, MI; 2 grandchildren, Jaime (Karl) Nelson and Joshua (Diane) Nelson; and 5 great grandchildren.
Reba was born on August 2, 1920 in Perrysville, Indiana to Austin and Lois (Gass) Etter. Reba was a proud graduate of U of M, class of 1942 and worked for both Grand Haven and Spring Lake Schools for 15 years, prior to retiring. She was an avid reader, enjoyed her animals and playing golf, and loved spending time on Lake Michigan at her cottage.
The Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven with Rev. John Koedyker officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM Wednesday. Interment will follow at Lakeshore Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Reba asked for donations to the Harbor Humane Society, or Lakeshore Assisted Living. Please sign the family’s online guestbook at www.vbkfuneralhome.com.
