Helen Reid's Obituary
Mrs. Helen G. (Neal) Reid, age 97, passed away early Tuesday morning, December 14, 2004 in Muskegon. She was born April 24, 1907 to John W. and Hattie (Holm) Lundholm in Moline, IL, moved to Shelby when she was a young girl, and moved to Muskegon in 1925 where she has since lived. She was a loving mother, part of the “Great Generation”, had worked at Motor Specialties during WWII, and later at Scott-Tjapkes IGA. Helen was married to Harvey Neal, who preceded her in death in 1952. She later married Guy Paulson and Earl A. Reid, both of whom also preceded her in death. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Gloria (Jim) Loring of Muskegon, Gordon (Ruth) Neal of Ravenna, Gary (Janice) Neal of Muskegon; 9 grandchildren, Janice (Tom) Naperala, David (Lori) Loring, Sue (Mike) Klemp, Mike Neal, Beth (J.R.) Sizemore, Terri (Bob) Scandary, Tom Neal, Gary (Chris McGuigan) Neal, Kyle (Mike) Dykman; 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; 2 step-children, Jeanette Porter of Muskegon, Jerry (Pat) Reid of Grand Rapids. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Helmer and Carl Lundholm, and 1 sister, Ethel Lundholm. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc.,737 Apple Ave.,(231) 726-5210, with Pastor Bobby Cabot officiating. VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service.
