Helen V. Richards' Obituary
Helen V. Richards, age 68, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024 in Norton Shores. She was born on November 10, 1955 in Muskegon to Allen and Velma (Christiansen) Hawkins and was a life resident of the area. Helen was a “professional grandma” and enjoyed being a 2nd mom to many people. She loved baking banana bread, cookies and fudge among many other things and sharing them with family and friends; but at the same time was a “tough cookie”. Helen was also an entrepreneur and a yard sale re-seller throughout her years. She also enjoyed hunting years ago. SURVIVORS include three children, Susan Iversen, Sharlene Stanhope, and Joseph (Amy) Richards; 13 grandchildren; one great grandson; brother, Pete (Marie) Hawkins; and was considered a special aunt and great aunt to many people. Helen was preceded in death by three sisters, and three brothers. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 11AM Monday, April 29, 2024 at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 Apple Ave. Muskegon, MI 49442 (231-726-5210) with Pastor Ben Vegh officiating.
