Helen Joyce Vanas' Obituary
Helen Joyce Vanas, 90, passed from this life into eternal life on Monday, April 14, 2025. She was born September 6, 1934, in Bellwood, Illinois to Walter and H. Florence (Olsen) Kline. Before becoming a homemaker, she worked as a switchboard operator and a secretary at the phone and gas companies in Muskegon. She was a Sunday school teacher at Fruitland Baptist Church, an avid baker and enjoyed giving treats to others. She exchanged letters with her lifelong dear friend and loved playing cards, hearts being a favorite. SURVIVORS include her daughter Darla and son-in-law Kirk Olivier of North Carolina, two sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence A. Vanas; her son, Thomas A. Vanas; four brothers: Walter, Roland, Jack, and Donald Kline; and a sister, Arlene Stewart. A GRAVESIDE REMEMBERANCE for Helen Joyce will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Pine Hill Cemetery in Fruitport.
