Helen A. Bruno's Obituary
Helen A. Bruno, age 90, of Spring Lake passed away Saturday, July 19, 2008, at a local care facility. Helen was born September 20, 1917, in Grand Haven to Lawrence and Mary (Shashaguay) VanHall and married Joseph I. Bruno December 18, 1933, in Grand Haven. Joseph preceded her in death in November of 1987.
Helen enjoyed reading and cooking and is survived by three daughters: Florence Baars of Spring Lake, Joanne Linton of Las Vegas, NV, and Nancy Wilson of Mesa, AZ; a son, Joseph Bruno of Spring Lake; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Barbara Schroedter of Grand Haven; and several nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her sister, Louise Schultz; a brother, John Shashaguay; and several half brothers and sisters.
In keeping with Helen’s wishes, no service or visitation is planned. Interment will be in Spring Lake Cemetery. Memorials to Harbor Humane Society are appreciated. Share memories with the family at their online guest book at www.vbkfuneralhome.com.
