Helena M. Schaub's Obituary
Helena M. Schaub, age 88, passed away at home on August 8, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born on April 10, 1929 to Martin and Lena (Houdek) Kolarik. Helena worked 22 years at Barnes Groceries in Muskegon. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church where she helped with funeral luncheons. She enjoyed her family, polka music, cooking, playing cards and canning. On October 30, 1948 she married Frederick Schaub and he preceded her in death on June 30, 2017. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Donald Schaub, Gordon (Deana) Schaub, Susan (Elton) Greer and Steven (Karen) Schaub; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Kolarik and brother-in-law, Jim Lewis. Helena was also preceded in death by her sister, Marie Lewis. MASS of CHRISTIAN BURIAL will take place 11:00 AM, Monday, August 14, 2017 at St. Thomas Catholic Church (3252 Apple Ave.) with Rev. Fr. Antony Britto presiding. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4PM Sunday at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., 231-726-5210 and one hour prior to the mass at church. MEMORIALS can be directed to the Harbor Hospice Foundation. Entombment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
