Helen B. Lauterberg's Obituary
Mrs. Helen B. Lauterberg, age 94, died Sunday afternoon, December 4, 2005. She was born April 7, 1911 in Muskegon to Emil and Maude (Whitney) Seastrand, and had been a Muskegon area resident for most of her life. Mrs. Lauterberg was a member of McGraft Memorial Congregational Church, and a former long-time member of Crestwood United Methodist Church, where she had been active in the Ladies Aid Society and the Women’s Society for many years. She loved crocheting, embroidery, knitting, and babysitting her grandchildren. She also loved animals and flower gardening. On March 30, 1929, she married William C. Lauterberg, Sr. in Whitehall, and he preceded her in death on January 21, 1976. SURVIVORS include her son, William C. “Bill” (Lynda) Lauterberg, Jr. of Whitehall; daughter, Bettylu Lonergan of Muskegon; 5 grandchildren, Debra Lonergan of Ann Arbor, MI, Charles “Chuck” (Mary) Lonergan of Muskegon, Kim (Will) Cole of Whitehall, Brenda (Walter) Gildersleeve of Grand Rapids, Lorrie Lauterberg of Muskegon; 7 great-grandchildren, Lianna and Kenneth Gildersleeve of Grand Rapids, Brandy Willhite of Argus, IN, Tonya (Michael) Grevel of Muskegon, Ryan (Jamie) Lauterberg of Muskegon, Andrea and Krista Lonergan both of Muskegon; 3 great-great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Rose, Christopher Allen, and Kyle Aaron Lauterberg all of Muskegon; and her half-brother, Miles (Marilyn) Cluff of North Glen, CO. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Kenneth Lonergan; and sister, Hazel Burns. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at McGraft Memorial Congregational Church with the Rev. Dr. Gerald J. Wahr officiating. Burial will be in Oakhurst Cemetery, Whitehall, MI. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
