Helen E. Cherry's Obituary
Ms. Helen E. Cherry, age 92, passed away Thursday, February 04, 2010 at a local nursing home. She was born March 29, 1917 in Cudahy, WI to Anton and Mary (Merschdorf) Rittgasser. Helen was employed at Frank Lockage clothing store for many years, until her retirement in 1983. She loved dancing and called it “her world”. She held memberships in the Muskegon Hts. Eagles, the Moose Lodge and the Royal Neighbors. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Elizabeth Spencer, Marie Stasunas and Hilda Danz-Kieft. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held, Monday, 2:00 p.m. at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100. Rev. Gerald Hagans officiating. VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Mona View Cemetery. MEMORIAL contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
