Mrs. Helene E. Smith, age 87, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at her home in Norton Shores. She was born in Cadillac, MI on March 3, 1924 to Harold and Elsie (Carlson) Rossell and grew up in Mesick, MI before settling in Muskegon as a young adult. On September 4, 1943, Helene married Calvin W. Smith and he preceded her in death on April 26, 2005. She is survived by her two children, Garold E. (Carol) Smith and Mary Ann (Mark) Morton; 3 grandchildren, Darrick Smith, Benjamin Smith and Tara (Tony) Schaefer; great-granddaughter, Ella and one brother, Harold L. (Helen) Rossell. According to Mrs. Smith’s wishes, no services will be held.
