Helen Fay Winsemius' Obituary
Mrs. Helen Fay Winsemius, age 71, went to be with her Lord, surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren, 2 brothers, and friends Wednesday, July 13, 2005. She was born on July 25, 1933 to Howard Burr and Myrtle (Teall) Hodges and had been a life resident of Muskegon. Mrs. Winsemius was the Assistant Activity Director at Brook Haven Medical Care Facility before retiring in 1989. She was previously employed by DeBoer Nursing Home and as a Teachers Aid. She attended Forest Park Covenant Church. Helen loved gardening, sewing, and was a member of the Scarlet O’Hara Redhat Ladies. She enjoyed singing as well as attending all her grandchildren’s activities. Mrs. Winsemius was a kind and gentle lady that was always helping out others. On July 27, 1951, she married Russell Winsemius and he SURVIVES her along with 1 son, Richard (Patti) Winsemius of Muskegon; 2 daughters, Debra (Bill) Born of Caledonia, MI and Nancy (Dennis) Hanks of Muskegon; 2 brothers, Ronald (Yvonne) Hodges of Grand Rapids and Gerald (DeDe) Hodges of Florida; 1 sister, Sharon McMann of Florida; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Katie) Born, Sarah (Brian) Hammer, Matthew Born, David (Stacie) Winsemius, Steven Winsemius, Andrew Winsemius, MaryAnn Winsemius, Matthew and Michael Anderson, Maria Peterson, Megan and Michelle Hanks; and great-grandchildren, Matthew Gwozdz and Evan Winsemius. She was preceded in death by her mother and father. SERVICES will be 11am Saturday at Forest Park Covenant Church (3815 Henry St.) with Rev. Paul Bengtson officiating. VISITATION will be 2-4 & 6-8PM Friday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. (1547 W. Sherman Blvd.) 231-759-8565. INTERMENT will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
