Helen Julia Siembida's Obituary
Mrs. Helen Julia Siembida, age 92, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2005. She was born March 22, 1913 in Metamora, IL to Michael and Gertrude Alig and lived most of her life in the Muskegon area. She married Stephen P. Siembida in 1937, and he preceded her in death in 2001. Prior to retirement in 1978, she worked over 20 years as a bartender and waitress at The Castle Inn. Helen was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church and was also active at the Polish Falcon Lodge. SURVIVORS include 1 son, Steven (Patricia) Siembida of North Shores, 1 daughter, Sharon (John) Pavka of Muskegon; 5 grandchildren, Scott Siembida, Paul Siembida, Scott Doza, Deb Pavka, and John Pavka; 5 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Prosper Alig and Beno Alig; and 2 sisters, Florence Alig and Amelia Smith. THE FUNERAL LITURGY will be celebrated 1:30 PM Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. James B. Wyse presiding. INTERMENT will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION with Helen’s family will be 5-8 PM Tuesday evening at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565. The Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Tuesday evening.
