Helen M. LaNore's Obituary
Mrs. Helen M. LaNore, age 84, passed away Saturday evening, May 8, 2010 in Muskegon. She was born April 8, 1926 to Reynold and Margaret (LaRocque) Couture in Detroit, and lived most of her life in the Muskegon area. In addition to raising her family, Helen lived a busy life. For many years she was a crossing guard for the City of Muskegon Heights. She also served as an Altar Chairperson at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, was a Realtor, a business entrepreneur, and a musician. On July 8, 1944 she married Kenneth I. LaNore, and he preceded her in death in 1977. SURVIVORS include 7 children, Wayne (Mary Ann) LaNore of Muskegon, Judy (Chuck) Schalk of Muskegon, Bonnie (Dennis) Jones of Muskegon, Debbie (Steve) Null of Muskegon, Gene LaNore of Grand Rapids, Thomas LaNore of Muskegon, Tammy (Doug) Nummerdor of Saline, MI; 22 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; 4 brothers and sisters, Bertha Wodarski of Garden City, Walt (Corine “Sam”) Couture of Muskegon, Dave (Sharon) Couture of Westland, Carol Couture of Muskegon; many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. Helen was also preceded in death by a son, LCpl Dennis LaNore who was killed in Vietnam in 1966, and a granddaughter Ashley Langlois in 1986. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Saturday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 with the Rev. Fr. William Langlois officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION will be from 5-8 PM Friday, and 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday.
