Helen Marie (Morrell) Jonas' Obituary
Mrs. Helen Marie Jonas, age 76, passed away Friday, September 30, 2011 at Spectrum Health- Butterworth in Grand Rapids. She was born November 11, 1934 in Grand Haven to Harry and Mabel (Johnson) Dreese. She married Carl E. Morrell on April 7, 1953. He preceded her in death on November 30, 1996. She later married Robert W. Jonas in Muskegon on June 10, 2000, who survives her. Helen was an Associate Engnineer for AT&T in Warrenville, IL for over 20 years until her retirement in 1989. She is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Kimberly (Martin) Krier of Sterling, CO, Sharron (Phillip) Marrero of Plainfield, IL, Linda (Gary) Emmert of Joliet, IL, Kert (Jackie) Jonas of Hudsonville, FL, Jill (Marvin) Norton and Sheli Weigand both of Norton Shores, Brian (Kimberly) Jonas of Holland, MI and Tara (Todd) Gomah of Fruitport; 2 sisters, Martha Messenger of Roosevelt Park and Donna (Tom) MacKay of Fruitport; also 11 grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 2 daughters, Carla and Joyce Ann Morrell, 4 brothers and 1 sister. Helen loved reading, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, 4381 S. Sheridan Dr., where her service will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Scott Church officiating. Visitation with her family will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Those desiring an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Trinity Baptist Church.
