Helen P. Postema's Obituary
Mrs. Helen P. Postema, age 83, went to be with her Lord Thursday morning, January 31, 2008 at Lakeview Manor in Whitehall. She was born January 11, 1925 in Muskegon Heights to John and Anna (Dokmontis) Gary and lived in the Muskegon area for most of her life. On January 26, 1952 she married Max J. Postema in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on October 5, 2002. During the course of her life, she worked for G.T.E. and Burger King. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Mrs. Postema enjoyed crocheting, shopping, and cooking, especially her famous dumplings. SURVIVORS include 2 daughters, Judy (Steve) Simmons, Louann Ripka both of Muskegon; 3 grandchildren, Brandon, Becky, Megan; 2 sisters, Katie (Bill) Engelhard of Muskegon, Ann (Phil) Begley of Traverse City; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Pauline Siperly. The family would like to give special thanks to Bonnie, Jim, Cindy, and staff of Lakeview Manor in Whitehall for their love, compassion, and care over the past 3 months.
