Henrietta Mae "Pete" Hubers' Obituary
Henrietta Mae “Pete” Hubers, 95, returned to her heavenly home on Tuesday, October 30, 2018. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God was instrumental in living a beautiful and selfless life. Pete was born to Gerrit and Cornelia (Scheffer) Veurink in Mille Lacs County, Minnesota, on December 18, 1922. On March 25, 1948 she married William Hubers, who preceded her in death on September 30, 1993. She and William moved from Minnesota with their family to Jenison, MI in 1969. Pete and her late husband, William, opened their hearts and home throughout the years to over 200 foster children, and were strong supporters of Bethany Christian Services. Together, Pete and her husband served as short term missionaries with CRWRC, now World Renew. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Joel Hubers (Sandy Hingston), four infant children, two grandsons, Chad Vos and Christian Landman-Hubers, and twin great granddaughters, Delaney and Marley Vos. Pete is survived by her beloved children, Paul Hubers, Carol (Henry) Vos, Mary Ruth (Mark Rosenbush) Goldstein, Robert “Butch” (Ruthie) Hubers, and Pete’s beloved grandchildren; Jody (Michael) Lettecci, Sara (Ryan) VanHuizen, Jason (Mary) Vos; Suzanne (Andrew) Cwick, Alexis (Tyler) Roy, William Fidelman; Stephanie (Jason) Allaire, Melissa (Derrick) Hall; Hunter, Harlie, Hayden and Henry Hubers. Her surviving great-grandchildren include Anthony and Jack Lettecci, Samantha, Isabel and Sophia VanHuizen, Avery, Finnley, Jacey, and Macoy Vos; Jordan and Tatum Allaire; Leanna Hubers, Julius and Rory Hall; Taylor Mackey, Sofie Cwick, Madeleine and Daniel Tabaka, and Lillian Roy. A private family service and internment will be held. You may visit the family’s online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Hubers may be made to Bethany Christian Services.
