Henrietta "Etta" VanRandwyk's Obituary
Mrs. Henrietta “Etta” VanRandwyk, age 86, went to be with her Lord on Saturday evening, January 28, 2012, in Muskegon. She was born January 13, 1926 to Cornelius and Hilda (VanDyke) Holtrop in Muskegon and was a life resident of the area. Etta graduated from Muskegon Christian School and Muskegon High School. She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church, its Women’s Bible Study Fellowship; and was active in Muskegon Area Bible League Volunteers, Project Phillip and the Muskegon County Right to Life. Etta was preceded in death by 4 brothers, James, Orin, John and Alvin Holtrop. On June 18, 1948, she married John VanRandwyk and he survives her along with 2 children, David (Suzanne) VanRandwyk of Grandville and Joan (Randy) Norman of Muskegon; 5 grandchildren, Jamie (Lisa) VanRandwyk of San Ramon, CA, Stacy (Jeremiah) Schutte of Pella, IA, Kari (Jeff) Blech of Grandville, Ryan (Rebecca) Norman of Grand Rapids and Ross Norman of Lake Ann, MI; 2 great-grandchildren, Caleb and Elijah VanRandwyk; 2 sisters, Grace Portenga of Muskegon and Evelyn (Gerrit) VanRandwyk of East Lansing, MI; one brother, Frank Holtrop of Zeeland and by several nieces and nephews. FUNERAL SERVICES for Etta will be 11 AM Thursday at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, 49444 (231-798-1100), with Pastor Jerry Postema officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery. VISITATION with Etta’s family will be 6-8 PM Wednesday and one-hour prior to the service on Thursday. For a more lasting memorial, you are asked to consider Western Michigan Christian High School or Muskegon County Right to Life.
