Mrs. Henrietta "Etta" Bell's Obituary
Mrs. Henrietta “Etta” Bell, wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, age 91, went to be with her Lord, Sunday morning, July 8, 2012. Etta was one of 13 children born to the late Ben John, Sr. and Henrietta (VanZuthem) Harjer in Muskegon, MI on January 29, 1921. She married Alex A. Bell on June 7, 1940, and he preceded her in death on September 18, 2003. Etta had been employed at Amazon Knitting Company prior to her marriage. She attended The Lakes Community Church of the Nazarene. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Bob Bell of Muskegon, Judie (Jack) Kooyers of Whitehall, Tom Bell, Denise (Don) Darke both of Muskegon; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Mike (Hazel) Harjer of Muskegon, Harold Harjer and Everett “Buck” (Dorothy) Harjer of Arizona; 2 sisters, Joann Paul and Loretta “Peg” (Bob) Forrest of Muskegon; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Etta was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Fannie Handlogten; brothers, Walt, Herm, Jerry, Hank, Johnny, and Fred Harjer; daughter-in-law, Myra Bell; and great-grandson, Michael Bell. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., (231) 726-5210 with Rev. Thomas A. Parks officiating. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Harbor Hospice.
