Henry "Hank" Christiansen's Obituary
Henry Junior “Hank” Christiansen, age 91, passed away Friday, December 27, 2019 at his home with family at his side. He was born June 17, 1928 in Ludington, MI to Henry and Katrina (Carlsen) Christiansen. On December 13, 1947, he married Janet M. Laughlin in Muskegon; on December 13, 2020, Hank and Janet celebrated 72 years of marriage! Hank was self-employed over 50 years as a tile setter operating Henry Christiansen Tile. He regularly attended the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Muskegon. Hank was a member of the Fruitport Eagles and the Danish Brotherhood, he enjoyed bowling, golfing and was a diehard Tigers fan though his biggest love was time with family, playing cards and for many years, spending time at the cottage on Basford Lake in Baldwin. Survivors include his loving wife, Janet M. Christiansen; 2 sons, Hank (Pamela) Christiansen , Mark James (Janet) Christiansen; 4 grandchildren, Brandt Christiansen, Kate (Gabby) Christiansen, Mary Christiansen, Faye (William) Root; 3 great-grandchildren, Addison & Jillian Christiansen, Eleazer Root; 1 sister, Lillian Johnson; he was particularly close to sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Laughlin. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, Erle, Harry, Clay and Vern Christiansen, and 1 sister, Clara. Private services will be conducted. In lieu of flower, contributions may be made to Harbor Hospice, Muskegon, Michigan.
