Henry J. Schillaci's Obituary
Henry J. Schillaci, age 81, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 26, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 26, 1942, to Aron and Elsie (Weich) Schillaci in Muskegon, MI where he has remained a lifelong resident. He graduated from North Muskegon High School and then continued his education at Michigan State University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in education. On February 25, 1988, he married the love of his life, Judi Kymes in Muskegon. Together they cherished 36 years full of love, laughter and endless nights on the water. He dedicated numerous years to Reeths-Puffer High School where he taught woodworking for many years. Henry was gifted in his skill enlightening many over the years. He also took pride in owning and operating Aron’s Restaurant, which was family owned for many years. Henry had a passion for being out on the water, whether it was a cruise with Judi or sailing their boat, Blue Peace. Henry was a caring husband, loving father to his children and stepchildren, and wonderful grandpa. His kind and quiet demeanor will be missed by many. He is survived by his loving wife, Judi Schillaci; four children, Richard (Kasey) Guy, Erin (Alan) Vandenboss, Rodney Boertman and Nikki Boertman; one grandson, Aron Schillaci; and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Aron (Elsie) Schillaci; son, Tracy Schillaci; and brother, Jim Schillaci. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
