Henry E. "Hank" Sterenberg's Obituary
Henry E. “Hank” Sterenberg, age 94, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023. He was born September 14, 1928 in Muskegon to Edward and Agnes (Bouwsma) Sterenberg and had been a life resident of the area. On October 1, 1954, he married the former Amy J. Willson in Muskegon, and she preceded him in death on May 20, 2020. Hank worked 42 years as a salesman for Goodwill Industries prior to his retirement in 1993. He was a member of Spring Lake Christian Reformed Church. Hank is survived by his son, David E. Sterenberg of Allendale; brother, Edward (Ruthann) Sterenberg Jr.; sister-in-law, Inez Patten of Fort Myers, FL; several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Marthalice (Basil) Larabee and Jeanne (John) Bytwerk. A celebration of Hank’s life will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Spring Lake Christian Reformed Church (364 S. Lake Ave., Spring Lake, MI 49456). He will be laid to rest next to his wife, Amy, in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. MEMORIALS to West Michigan Christian Schools will be appreciated.
