Henry C. "Hank" Van Andel's Obituary
Mr. Henry C. “Hank” Van Andel, age 82, passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 21, 2010. He was born January 30, 1928 in Muskegon to Hendrick and Dirkje (Van Delzen) Van Andel. Mr. Van Andel was a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran of WWII and was a member of the Marine Corp League in Muskegon. Mr. Van Andel worked for Peter Eckrich and Sons for 32 years before retiring. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church, was an avid sports fan, and also enjoyed listening to music. On October 1, 1951 married the former Patricia J. Poort in Indiana and she survives him along with a daughter, Carol (Joe, Jr.) Kuzniar of Nunica; 2 granddaughters, Tiffany (Mike) Workman, Melissa Kuzniar; 2 sisters, Dena Malda of Norton Shores, Margaret Rop of Muskegon; sister-in-law, Phyllis Van Andel of Grand Rapids; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Nicholas and Jim Van Andel. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Friday, October 15, 2010 at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Rev. Diane L. Gordon officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS to Harbor Hospice will be appreciated.
