Henry J. Gawron's Obituary
Mr. Henry J. Gawron, age 74, died Thursday morning, March 11, 2004, at Hackley Hospital. Henry was born October 10, 1929, in the family home, to John & Mary (Olech) Gawron, and had been a life resident of the Muskegon area. He was a communicant member of St. Jean Baptiste Catholic Church and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. Hank was an avid believer of “Labor Rights”; and was a great outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing along with his special hobby, wood-finishing. He had been employed at Anaconda Wire & Cable for 33 years and then became an agent for AFLAC Insurance, prior to his retirement. On June 27, 1953 he married the former Joan M. Dault and she survives him along with 3 children, Steven (Sue Paulson) Gawron , Mary Louise (Harold) LaBelle and James (Amy) Gawron, all of Muskegon; 9 grandchildren, Todd Teuling, Jacob Gawron, Brittni, Derek & Gabrielle LaBelle, Jimmy, Daniel, Elizabeth & Adam Gawron; 3 brothers, Stanley Gawron of Tucson, AZ, John Gawron of North Muskegon and Frank (Margaret) Gawron of Fruitport; 1 sister-in-law, Mary Gawron of Fruitport, 1 aunt, Stefania Olech of Poland and by numerous nieces and nephews. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters Helen Gawron and Angela Opelek and by 2 brothers, Joseph and Julian Gawron. The MEMORIAL MASS will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, March 19, 2004 at St. Jean Baptiste Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. David LeBlanc presiding. Private family interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION with Henry’s family will be from 10–11:00 AM Friday, prior to the Mass. MEMORIAL GIFTS to A.L.S. (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Assoc.- West Michigan Chapter) will be appreciated.
