Henry James Yonker's Obituary
Mr. Henry James Yonker, age 84, died Monday, February 16, 2004 at Roosevelt Park Nursing Home. He was born November 19, 1920 in Muskegon to Gerrit and Grace (Cook) Yonker. Mr. Yonker had worked for Continental Motors, Yonker Motor and Wash for 25 years washing cars, and was self employed. He was a member of Christian Life Center Church and the Men’s Auxiliary of Muskegon Rescue Mission. Mr. Yonker was also an accomplished harmonica player and spent 47 years playing for residents at the local nursing homes. SURVIVORS include a brother, Gerrit Yonker Jr. of Muskegon; special nieces and nephews, Kelly (Gary) Hooker of Missouri, Gerry (Dianna) Yonker of Muskegon; many more nieces and nephews and his special friend Shirley. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Gordon Yonker; and 1 nephew, Kevin Yonker. SERVICES will be 11AM Friday at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc, 737 Apple Ave., 231 – 726 – 5210, with Pastor Curtiss McClain officiating. Full military services will be held after the committal service at the Funeral Home. VISITATION with the family will be Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8PM. Memorials can be made to the family.
